The ELASTIC project aims to redefine the landscape of 6G network orchestration through innovative technologies and methodologies. The primary goal is to enhance network efficiency, security, and flexibility by harnessing WebAssembly, Confidential Computing, eBPF/XDP, Federated Machine Learning, and edge computing.

Analyze executable isolation techniques to enhance efficiency, portability, and security throughout the lifecycle of secure in-network cloud and edge computing.

Design Secure Serverless FaaS Orchestration

Research and design a secure, architecture-agnostic serverless Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) orchestration framework for managing diverse artifacts and workloads. Ensure data authenticity and trusted interactions in dynamic service environments.

Implement Confidential and Privacy-Preserving Execution Environments

Develop a secure, privacy-preserving, architecture-agnostic execution environment utilizing confidential computing and privacy-enhancing technologies to provide secure services on programmable platforms for multiple stakeholders.

Efficient Orchestration for 6G Edge and IoT Workloads

Design and implement efficient, secure orchestration for edge and far-edge (IoT) workloads within critical 6G infrastructure. Ensure reliability, trust, and resilience across a globally connected continuum of heterogeneous environments, facilitated by network and IT system convergence for future digital services.

Advance 6G Technology Standardization and Deployment

Support the standardization, exploitation, and dissemination of 6G technologies. Align with EU supply capabilities to ensure efficient, secure, and privacy-preserving service deployment.

Ambition

ELASTIC aims to create orchestration mechanisms that are not only efficient and secure but also highly adaptable and portable. By focusing on the integration of Wasm, eBPF, and Confidential Computing, the project seeks to address the challenges of dynamic resource allocation and management, efficient service provisioning, and enhanced security in 6G networks. The ultimate ambition is to pave the way for the deployment of advanced 6G services, ensuring seamless connectivity, adaptability, and security in diverse network conditions.
