Meet our Partner: Politecnico di Torino
In the ELASTIC project POLITO focuses on the eBPF/XDP technologies, which play a central role in achieving the ELASTIC goals. eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) is a powerful technology for network monitoring and processing in service orchestration, allowing for the execution of custom code in the kernel space, while providing isolation and safety guarantees. The eXpress Data Path (XDP) technology, which leverages eBPF, allows for high-speed packet processing and filtering.
In ELASTIC, these technologies will be exploited to further enhance the security and efficiency of service orchestration in 6G networks.
POLITO’s Role in the ELASTIC Project
POLITO is committed to contributing to research related to eBPF, both for what concerns its security, and its potential for low-latency and high-throughput networking applications.
About POLITO
Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) is a leading technical University located in Turin, Italy. POLITO was the first Italian Engineering School founded in the wave of the technical and scientific innovation that gave rise to the most prestigious European polytechnic schools in the mid-19th century. Now, POLITO is one of the most important universities in Europe for engineering and architecture studies, strongly committed to collaboration with industry. POLITO is a research university that participates at the highest levels of international scientific research.
Research activities, are structured in four macro-areas: Industrial Engineering; Information Technology; Management and Mathematical Engineering; Civil, Environmental, Architecture and Design Engineering. POLITO attracts students from all regions of Italy and also from many countries worldwide.
In ELASTIC, POLITO participates with its Department of Control and Computer Engineering via the Netgroup, a research group with expertise in networking and cybersecurity. Specifically, POLITO contributes to the eBPF-related Elastic research activities.
